In this series the Viennese photographer and artist Petra Rautenstrauch invented the multi-faceted Peggy Poetry, as her alter ego. She helps her to take a closer look at her own person, or to be exact, at what we usually refer to as identity.
Rautenstrauch does not take a solely introspective view; she always seeks to connect her innermost self with the her surrounding space. It is this interplay between the internal and external that constitutes the different facets Peggy Poetry sustains, neither one excluding the other. Here the boundaries of our worldly limits, that tends to distinguish between two polarities, are overstepped and new ground is broken: disconsolate and proud; strong and battle-weary; demanding and giving; disheartened and courageous. Balanced between the two poles, Peggy Poetry is above all one thing: seeking beyond the boundaries.
